About Fetching the Dream

Fetching the Dream provides structured, enrichment-driven pet care designed to support each animal's mental stimulation, emotional balance, physical well-being, and natural behaviors. Rather than simply stopping by for feeding or potty breaks, every visit is intentionally designed around purposeful interaction, enrichment, consistency, observation, and compassionate care. Our enrichment-based approach helps reduce boredom, lower anxiety, encourage confidence, reinforce routines, and improve overall well-being while giving families peace of mind knowing their pets are receiving meaningful care.

Whether we're caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, turtles, snakes, fish, horses, goats, poultry, donkeys, alpacas, pigs, or other animals, every visit is customized around the species-specific needs of each animal. Our team is professionally trained and evaluated before working with clients.

Every caregiver is taught structured procedures, observation skills, communication, and enrichment techniques that allow them to provide professional-level care while creating positive experiences for every animal.

About Lynn Duerbeck

I'm Lynn Duerbeck, the President and Founder of Fetching the Dream Inc. I built this company with one clear goal: to create a higher standard of pet care rooted in safety, structure, and enrichment-based care for every animal we serve. Before founding Fetching the Dream, my professional background was in first aid and safety, where I worked closely with individuals and organizations to build systems centered around preparedness, risk awareness, and proper response. That experience shaped how I see care as a whole. I learned that true safety isn't reactive—it's proactive, structured, and built into every step of a process.

When I created Fetching the Dream, I brought that same mindset into the pet care industry. I saw a gap where pet care often lacked consistency, professional training, communication, and a strong safety foundation. I knew it could be done better. Everything we do is designed around prevention, observation, structured routines, communication, and professional-level response. From recognizing subtle changes in an animal's behavior to maintaining secure environments and clear communication, safety is not an add-on—it's the foundation of our service.

This directly influences how I train our team. Every sitter is trained and evaluated through our ranch-based program before ever working with clients. They are taught how to think critically, follow structured procedures, observe animal behavior, recognize changes, and handle situations with confidence and professionalism. My background in first aid and safety is woven into every part of that training, ensuring our team is not only compassionate, but prepared.

At the same time, I believe care should go beyond the basics. That's why Fetching the Dream is built around enrichment-based pet care. Whether we're caring for dogs, cats, horses, goats, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, reptiles, birds, pigs, alpacas, or other animals, our focus is on providing meaningful engagement, comfort, consistency, and individualized enrichment tailored to every animal's unique needs.

At Fetching the Dream, we offer pet-to-hooves care which includes equine and other farm animals too! Whatever your routine is we will follow it for morning, midday and evening visits. Tasks we complete include feeding and watering, cleaning stalls, pens and coops, running feed loops, cleaning water buckets and troughs, put fresh hay out, prep for our next visit, assess each animal to ensure everyone is happy and healthy, basic grooming, and can also administer medications, ointments and other care required.  Choosing a farm sitter with the necessary experience and knowledge of farm animals and equipment is vital to ensure that the farm runs smoothly in the owner's absence, it can be nerve wracking to be away from your farm friends, but we work hard to make the process as smooth as possible.
