Every day, small rescues save the lives of dogs, cats, horses, and other animals in need — but they cannot do it alone. Fetching the Dream, Inc. partners with individuals and businesses to support rescue animals, senior pets, special-needs cases, and the caregivers who serve them.
Through our rescue partnerships, we provide food, medical care, safe housing, transportation, and respite care to give hardworking rescuers a much-needed break — so they can continue their lifesaving work.
Support for K-9 Units
Police K-9 units across Brevard and Indian River Counties rely on community support to ensure their K-9 partners receive the care and protection they need both on and off duty. These highly trained working dogs face demanding conditions, and when injuries occur, medical costs can add up quickly.
Support for Police K-9 Units
Police K-9 dogs perform critical roles including search and rescue operations, narcotics detection, tracking missing persons, and assisting law enforcement officers in dangerous situations. Many of these dogs are imported from specialized breeders overseas because of their strong working bloodlines. The total cost of acquiring and training a police K-9 dog can range from fifteen thousand to forty-thousand dollars or more when transportations, training, veterinary care, and equipment are included. Community partnerships often help provide the funding needed.
Support for Local Animal Rescues
Animal rescue organizations frequently operate with limited funding while caring for abandoned, neglected, and injured animals. FTD works with community partners to help raise awareness and support for these organizations by helping provide veterinary care, food, supplies and other resources.
